We just got back from a trip to the Bridgeport, IL.  We went mainly to work on a saw mill and cut out some fencing for my brother and myself.  But we of course made some time to hang out with friends and family from the area.  About mid day Jennifer came out with the camera and got some shots.  Check ‘em out!

This is where Travis (my brother) and I spent most of the weekend.at-dads-3-29-08-9blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpgThis is my dad working out the tractor.at-dads-3-29-08-13blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpg Things were quite muddy out there.  Jennifer had to borrow some boots that were a little too small for her… but she looks happy in them.  I may have to get her a pair.at-dads-3-29-08-36-blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpgSome details of the surroundings.  (I told you she was awesome at detail shots)cutting-collage-blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpgAnd some of the finished result.at-dads-3-29-08-33blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpg

I’m heading back to my roots today and will be gone for the entire weekend.  Sorry, no posting.  We’re going to Illinois to see my father and use his sawmill to cut out some fencing.  We’ll be back late Sunday night and will have some fun country pictures to post.  Not to mention that starting next week, I’m going to start doing engagement photos for ‘08 clients.  So keep posted for those (I love engagement photos).

Hello everyone.  March has been a great month of thinking for me.  I’ve gotten a lot of time and advise to put towards KBP.  And after much thought (and help from Jennifer), I decided KBP needs a complete overhaul.  Although the marketing materials and website I have are great, they don’t do a very good job of showing my personality or style.  Right now, I only have the photos to show that off?  So keep your eyes peeled, as the new KBP emerges.

Here’s a sneak peek.  Some of the changes are slight, like my star logo.  Others, like my website, will be major!kstar-sig-blog.jpg

I’ve been spending a lot of time lately trying to learn more about other photographers and how they work, so that I can refine my business.  The latest adventure was at the OSP Indy Workshop.  Some great photographers talked to us about the way they shoot and the business side of photography.  We even got a couple of chances to shoot along side of them.  The photos below are from last night’s shoot at the awesome Mavris Arts and Events Center.  We had 4 stations that were all discussing/trying out different ways to shoot in low light.

A friend of mine, Christina, volunteered to help us out on the model end.  I’ve worked with her before for some head shots, and she so easy to work with that it’s hard to get a bad picture.dsc_0377blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpg Garrett Nudd was the one who set up this pose.  He is an amazing international photographer that came to help out with the workshop.  He spoke this morning to the group and was very helpful and had a lot of inspiring ideas.  A+ Garrett.

Here’s the wide shot that shows the pose from the last two images.  dsc_0351.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpg Christina’s husband, Asher, came along to help out (he’s the one holding the video light).  And Garrett is showing us some ways to get different affects by shooting the light through other objects.dsc_0383.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpg The outcome…dsc_0393.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpg Here’s my group tearing up some shots of the children models we had.  And Kiera Dubach standing on the table for the aerial view!  Don’t worry Kiera, I won’t tell anybody.dsc_0459.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpg A couple other shots from the night. dsc_0504blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpg

This past weekend Jennifer and I went to Louisville to visit a good friend of mine, Ryan.  Ryan is married (wife=Tiffany), has one child (son=Davin) and one more on the way (son/daughter=?).  They are such a fun family, and they all (including Davin) make us feel so at home.  While we were there, we spent most of the time watching basketball, but did slip away to visit the Louisville Science Center and see a short IMAX film.  We brought a camera along to snap some shots of Davin in action. The Louisville Science Center had a lot of interesting exhibits.  We were more distracted then Davin.dsc_0211blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpgdsc_0218blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpg Tiffany showing Davin how to drive. tiffanddavinblog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpg  Davin only made it through half of the IMAX film.  When the film was over we found Ryan and him playing on the stairs and in the windows outside of the theatre.  dsc_0279blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpgdsc_0304blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpgdsc_0295blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpg I also used this weekend to look around Louisville for some good places to shoot.  I have a Wedding there in August and saw some great places for portraits.   It’s always nice to shoot in different cities.  It helps to keep the creative juices flowing.

My family sure does love making babies.  I have 4 nephews and 6 nieces.  Molly Claire is the most recent to join the bunch.  One of two in the last week.  Weighing in at 8 lbs and 1 oz and 21 inches long, she is the third daughter of my sister Michalina and her husband Dale.  Molly is beautiful.  But I don’t really have to say that, because you can just see for your self. dsc_0052blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpg ”M” for Molly!!!dsc_0113blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpgMolly had some serious “RockStar” hair.untitled-1blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpgMolly’s two sisters were at home.  So Mom and Dad got some really good QT with their new wonder.dsc_0134blog.jpg blog-watermark-blk.jpg The most amazing thing about Molly, besides her being so adorable and precious, was how well she was making eye contact at just 2 days old.  Talk about your heart melting.  It was great though, she was just looking around and taking it all in.dsc_0085blog.jpgblog-watermark-blk.jpg
