(post by Jen B.)

My good friend Santhana and his wife Amy welcomed their first child!  He’s a beautiful boy, and we were so happy to share a Saturday morning with the Naidu Family.

Here he is!

Proud, proud parents

Cameron’s got a great grip…I think Santhana’s been testing his strength to determine if he’ll be able to palm a basketball!

Santhana gets pestered a lot because of his love for Duke basketball.  I can sympathize because I think they’re pretty awesome too!  Seriously, can’t you see he’s already dreaming of dunking on the Tarheels.  hahaha!

Cameron, you are an amazing boy, and your parents are wonderful!  Thank you for letting us spend some time with you, and sorry for interrupting naps and bottle time!!

Hope to see you all again soon.  To view all photos, click here.

Congratulations go to Mr. and Mrs. Burd!  We were so pleased to photograph this wedding…it was one we had highlighted on our calendar due to its location, a downtown Louisville rooftop, but more so because of the couple.  Oh so FUN!   To describe this couple and the day, I’ll keep it short, because the photos will tell it all!  Beautiful church and ceremony.  A relaxed, joyful, smiling, go-with-the flow couple ALL day long!  Soccer.  Jello Shots.  Comedy.  Awesome skies.   Party Bus.  Face-o-cake.  Just wonderful, wonderful day.

Some last minute preparation.

Brooke gracefully slipping into her dress

The ceremony shoes…later exchanged for Crocs slippers!

A little snip of the bouquet

One of our favorites.  The ring bearer needed some prompting, but he made it!  Here’s the onlookers.

The ceremony was very nice.  The bride and groom kneeled in front.  They were into it, enjoying it all.

The best man had some difficulty finding the ring, but of course, he had it.

Happiness.

Onto the Party Bus we went!  The party started as jello shots flew!

So how did the wonderful couple meet?  At this indoor soccer facility when Burdie kicked a ball and hit Brooke in the head!  They could easily be subjects of a romantic comedy.

It was only fitting that they share a little game on the Waterfront.  How awesome is this?!!

I LOVE this one.  It was worth the stretch over the water!

Here’s the rooftop party, held at Glassworks

Face-o-cake!

And a beautiful sunset finish.

Burdie and Brooke: you did it right.  We were honored to be a part of your amazing day.  You are such fun, genuine people, and we hope to see you again soon.  THANK YOU!

My cousin Catherine asked us to capture a special moment she’s been seeing a lot lately…Dad (Roland) and son (Hudson) riding their bikes down the Monon Trail.  Hudson, on his shiny new bike, mimics his dad’s every move.  The tire skids, the tricks, it is a funny funny sight!  So the first pic is the one we had to get.  Then we just shot away as the boys rode on!

Checking out “Flash”

Ok, so I have to set this one up…following Roland’s lead, Hudson gets just to the right side of the trail, right on the small gravel.  He brakes HARD.  And skids as far as he can!  Then, hopping off the bike, he gives this reaction:

HILARIOUS!  He didn’t say a word…but I see him saying, “Yeeaaa…that was a sweeet one!”

Post-skid he measures the distance, heal to toe…this was a personal record…13 steps!  Woowwee!

Then we played “Hudson’s Thousand Faces.”  That lasted for a bit, then it turned into some crazy dancing.  Here are some of the funny faces.

It’s always a joy with you all!  Thanks for letting us hang out with you for a Boogie (Burger) and Bike Ride!

We have the best clients of anyone!  No, I’m serious… I checked and no one has as cool of clients as we do.  About a week ago we were invited to shoot Jessica and Brett’s wedding in Greenfield.  An awesome couple who are extremely nice and down to earth.  They were married in a really small church in the outskirts of Greenfield.  It was such a nice change of pace from the big city.

The flowers courtesy of the amazing Julie Hollis.

This was Jessica ALL DAY!  Laughing and completely enjoying herself.

And here’s Brett.  One of the greatest grooms I’ve had the chance to work with.  He was up for any photo at any time.

Even the wedding party was small, which for a photographer is ideal!  Plus we did almost all of the formal photos before the wedding… double bonus!!!

How about that veil!  It was her mothers veil from her wedding.  How awesome is that!!!

Just about to enter…

it was very emotional for everyone involved!!!

I think this is my new favorite picture of all time!  I don’t know if I’ve ever taken such an honest image.  WOW!  And it’s solely based on their expressions and showing their love for each other.

Get it Brett!

The reception was at Carnegie’s in downtown Greenfield.  Which if you haven’t been, it’s a must stop.  The food was delicious!

Jessica works at Carnegie’s as a waitress.  So she knew where to find the good music for dinner.

Check out that Cake!

Tastes good hun!

And a few more fun portraits to end the night!

Here’s a quick show of what you get with two photographers.  My view…

Jennifer’s view!

Jessica and Brett:  Thank you all so much for letting us take part in your most special day.  You two rock!!!

Come back here at the end of the week to see the rest of the images from this wedding.

More Family Weddings!!!  I photographed my cousin Will’s wedding back home in Terre Haute.  It was a beautiful Friday evening, on the campus at the beautiful St. Mary of the Woods.  Great day.

Ohh, the architecture!

And its Foundress, Saint Mother Theodore Guerin…

Deanna’s mother did her hair…how cool.

Loved the shoes!

Deanna!

Will and Carson taking care of last minute business

Probably my favorite of Will…just simple, straightforward

A moment of reflection as the bride enters

They’re wed!

Some togetherness…

I love this.  What character.

Carson looking on at his mother and grandfather’s dance…

I had to get the mohawk with the light just right. YES!

A little swing music brought Will back to the dance floor!

A perfect close to the evening with the twighlights (err…disco lights)

It’s Senior time!  Cassie came to Indy (from Ohio) with her mom and sister, so that we could do her senior pictures.  It’s always fun doing senior photos, but these were great!!!  Cassie was so easy to work with, she and her sister were cracking me up and her mother was so good about giving her space so that she could just concentrate on what I needed.  Overall… an amazing shoot!!!

Here’s Cassie.  I loved that she loosened up so early in the shoot and just started being herself.

Cassie gettin’ her model on!!!

Cassie and her sister on the loading dock!

Wowwy Zowwy!!!  How HOT does she look here!

This is a Cassie thing.  You would have to know her to understand???

Cassie is huge into music and plays many instruments.  I got to hear a little from her drum.  Check it out.  How cool is this!!!

Cassie with her Blazer!

Cassie:  Thank you for being so easy to work with.  You all were great and I obviously had a blast.  I look forward to seeing the images in print.  Thanks again!
