Two of our really good friends just brought their second in to the world.  Parker Kurtis Althoff!  (okay, so his middle name isn’t “Kurtis,” but I’m working on that)  We got a chance to visit with them last week and, of course, took some photos of the perfect, beautiful Parker!

Davin gave us a run for our money as he busted out his camera skills.  With a little help from Mom!

Davin’s going to be a great big brother… but as for right now, he seems a little concerned with how much attention this new thing is getting.  So he was right in the frame for much of the night.

My favorite shot of the two of them together.

How could you stay focused on baby pictures when this face is looking at you!

And when he got a little fussy, nothing calmed him down like Mom’s touch!

The Althoffs were one of four families we know that had a baby during the turn of the month.  So, we’ll have some more “cutesie wootsie” photos for you soon!

We had the pleasure to photograph a wonderful event hosted by the Horizon House and the Colts’ Hunter Smith.  The goal of the event was to raise money for Horizon’s very worthy cause of helping the local homeless get back on their feet.  The evening was alive with music by Connersvine (great stuff!), a hog roast, silent auction, Colts player appearances and a live auction led by Hunter.

It was held at the Colts Pavilion.

From the back of the room…Connersvine warming up the crowd.

Authentic game jerseys up for grabs!  Nicely placed, they caught some good light.

Jennifer really enjoys taking food pictures, and she couldn’t resist snapping up the coolest hog roast presentation EVER!  Not that we’ve been to a bunch of hog roasts, but this one was hammin’ it up : )  (Jennifer had to add in that last part!)

Hunter is pretty impressive off the field too.

More Colts arrived!

Dallas Clark clearly had the best time (or at least he showed it the most).  You could tell he was a big fan of Connersvine.

Before the live bidding started, a lady recently confronted with homelessness came up to tell her story.  It was a real Horizon House success.  Everyone was moved by her story of overcoming homelessness, thanks to the help she received from Horizon House.

Then the stage was all Hunter’s!

Besides just jerseys, fishing trips and autographed toilet seats, there were some different things auctioned off.  Like a chance to have rookie Mike Pollack jam away on the electric guitar! Everyone got to listen to it, so I’m not sure how that really worked???

And then Josh Thomas got auctioned off to play a couple of his OWN songs.  That’s right, singer song-writer Josh Thomas!!!  It was Josh’s first time playing in front of a big crowd… and in front of a microphone.  It ended up being the highlight of our evening!

Last but not least, Lilja (I think) payed quite a bit to have Hunter step back on stage and play a solo song.  Jennifer’s favorite shot of the evening.

We had such a good time at this event.  It was for a great cause, and I encourage you to take some time to find out more about the Horizon House and everything they do to help the homeless in Indianapolis.  And if you get a chance, make sure to sign up for next year’s event…a hog roast, live and silent auctions, and Colts players… what more could you ask for?!

Bobbie – Thank you for letting us take part.  We had such a great time and will hopefully be able to do it again next year.  You all ROCK!!!!!

I’m sure you’ve seen several pictures of the new stadium…it’s MAMMOTH!  Really, it is an unbelievable work of architecture, and we’re so lucky to have it here in Indy!  We attended one of the tours several weeks ago.  It was great that they let everyone come in to see it all, especially getting to walk on the field and in the locker rooms.  Here’s what we saw from the outside – woowzah.

And the nice seats with wider booty room and cup holders for each!

The roof is obviously one of the most exciting features… it’s going to be weird to see the Colts play in the natural light!  We were so used to the dome.  But I think it’s something we’ll get used to!!!

And last but not least, the window to Downtown.  It is a popular spot… as you can see.

Hoping for another great season… GOOOOOO COLTS!!!!!!!!!

You may have noticed recently the week long slump of posts on our blog.  There are several reasons for that and here’s one of them.

August was a huge month for us with five weddings, two other big events and several portrait sessions.  And as the month came to a close we needed a release.  What better way to get that release then heading to Brown County State Park for some camping and mountain biking.  Jennifer and I have been into cycling for a while now, but mostly just road biking.  We recently discovered how amazingly awesome mountain biking is!!!  Brown County has some great trails inside the park and we took full advantage.

This was our first REAL mountain biking and there were some surprises… like how dirty you get!!!  It was great!  I felt like a kid again, just playing in the dirt… and that’s an wonderful feeling!

A dirty detail…

The Bowersock Mountain Biking Team!  Look for us in 2010 on the pro circuit… maybe not. But maybe 2011!!!

We also had enough time to relax and just enjoy the beautiful park.  We got up early to have breakfast on one of the vista’s overlooking the area and watched the sunrise.  You’ve got to love timers!!!

This one was grabbed on our way out of the park!  I feel like there should be some sort of motivational saying written on the bottom.

We’re heading east this weekend to enjoy some more of the great outdoors and see some family.  And we’ll do our best to bring back some great photos and maybe some VIDEO!!!

This is the wedding that capped off the amazing month of August.  We headed to the west side of Indiana to photograph Jennifer and Greg on their big day!  This couple was so down to earth and easy going that they made the day super relaxing for us.  And as always, the pictures tell the story best… so here we go!

Jennifer has a lot of hair!  And it was taking the stylist so long to curl it all that she had to call in for reinforcements!!!

Mom looking on!

One of my favorite shots that Jen (my wife, not the bride) grabbed of the dress.  And yes, it was very hot in their room at the church!

Greg getting ready.

All the men looking dapper!  Thanks again fellas for braving the heat!!!

I couldn’t get enough of these two trailers.  You’ll see a few photos in the post of me using ‘em.

Now the ladies’ turn to work it out!

How beautiful is Jennifer looking!!!

WOW!!!

Getting ready to enter.

Get ‘er Greg!

The best bubble exit ever!  These families must be long winded, because I’ve never see so many bubbles flying around before.  Another of my favorites from Jen.

A few more portraits before we head to the reception.

The trailers again.

The cake cutting got a little messy!

You’ve gotta love the cake pieces flying through the air here!!!

That much cake under that much pressure can fly about anywhere!

It was back to being lovey dovey on the dance floor.

We have to give a quick shout out to Sarah (sister of the bride) and her husband Michael.  We got to shoot Sarah and Michael’s Wedding this past December (before we had the blog).  Here they are dancing.  -It was great seeing you two!!!

Now the party starts!

I’m not sure what’s happening in this next photo… but I think it’s a good place to stop this post!

A special thanks goes out to Lisa (Jennifer and Sarah’s Mom) for having us document her daughters’ Weddings.  As before, we had a great time with your family and can’t wait for the next.  Travis you better get busy on finding a wife!!!

And of course, a big Congratulations! to Jennifer and Greg.  We had a great time and can’t wait to show you the rest of the photos.  You two rock!!!

Seldom is there free time during a Wedding Day.  But when there is, Jennifer and I like to have a little fun.  It often turns into self-portrait contests or shoot offs (who can take a picture of the other faster), but sometimes we have to collaborate in order to fulfill our artistic ideas.  I couldn’t help but share this one Jennifer HAD to have taken of her in front of the tiger painting at Jonesey’s Salon in Anderson.  Sometimes it helps to have photographs that remind you just how AMAZING! your special someone is.

GO GET ‘EM TIGER!!!
