Here’s a peek at the past few days! It’s been fun, filling (food and otherwise) and fuming hot…as in 90 and humid! Not complaining, it’s the best ever.
Our first evening, we were taken to dine and watch Acapulco’s famous cliff divers. It was pretty incredible. To put it in perspective, jumps were made from 135 ft (at the highest point), into a 22 ft wide gap, into water about 13 ft deep! The highly trained divers watched the movement of the water, so that they hit it when the depth was the greatest. Simply awesome. Look at this duo – totally in sync.
On Thursday morning, we participated in the “Ball n Chain 5K”! For the running enthusiast bride (Emily) and groom (Ryan), this was absolutely perfect in every way! Kurtis and I were glad to run…Kurtis hauled his camera and bag the whole way. Now that’s dedication.
Here’s Mike (Emily’s dad), race director, who planned the route and took his GPS to verify the distance. The instructions were basically this – when you see the pink bucket in the sand, that’s the 1 mile marker. Go further until you see the liter bottle with the blue flag and round it! Can you imagine a better run than this?

Post rehearsal and turkey dinner, several enjoyed Cuban cigars! Here’s Ryan:

Now for a peek of the married couple. Kurtis ran down this atv for lighting – BRILLIANT!

This was one heck of a party.

Flippin’ awesome.

We bring more than just photography skills. Kurtis provided late night juggling entertainment with fruits!

Can’t wait to show you more. Hasta luego!
Tomorrow Jennifer and I are flying away to Mexico. We have the great opportunity to photograph the lovely-awesome-fun couple of Emily and Ryan!!! We’ll obviously have a lot of VERY WARM and VERY SUNNY photos to post once we get back next week.
But we would never leave you hanging for a week without some great photos to look at. So we’re unveling our first “Anniversary” shoot! Which is a great idea for those couples that may have opted out of engagement shots before their wedding. This shoot was amazing!!! (thanks in large part to the great couple we worked with – Barry and Nicole) We’ve been really good friends with them since college and have been talking about doing this shoot for about a year now!!! We both finally found some time this past weekend.
Check ‘em out! I have a good feeling you’ll like what you see.
Because of the colder weather, we didn’t have to ask them to cuddle up at all. That may be one reason why I like the Fall so much!

I love how happy they look in the next two photos. This is how they were throughout the entire shoot. You can imagine how easy that made things on us!!!

Jen’s Favorite!

Barry and Nicole – Thanks again you two! We had a great time getting to hang out all afternoon. Hopefully we can do the ice skating another day.
Well that should be it for the rest of the week. We may have internet access in Mexico, but I’m not positive. If we do we’ll try to get another post or two up this week. Thanks for lookin’.
Adios Amigos!!!
(post by Jen B)
This post is overdue, but finally, it’s here! The Indiana State University Homecoming Parade is a great tradition in my family. I attended ISU following in the footsteps of my mother, father, aunts, uncle and cousin. We bleed Blue! Also met Mr. Kurtis in Fairbanks Hall. So, of course, it’s a special place. And it’s always good to get home.
Sycamore Sam wore his warm booties
Star of the parade: Aunt Barb! She took her Flip along for the ride..how cool is that? And how about the ride?!
Hot Chocolate Queen (and mother-in-law) – what a combo!

Hudson, the Candy Man! Dad places another one in the bag…cha-ching.
Spectators. That’s my look alike, back left. Oh, and there’s one to the right. And two more in the distance!

More Heines.

My grandmother, GG, has attended about every parade for decades! Also, standing is my Aunt Carol, the inspiration for Camp Kurt & Jen.

One of our most loyal blog supporters – KIM! We appreciate you! Now if you can just get us that spot on channel 2…kidding! kind of. no, really kidding.

So we’re all kind of crazy over our cousin Hudson.

Made you smile, right?

And he declares it another successful parade!!

It’s M-E-I-E-R! Meet the Meiers. They’ve been clients of mine for four years now, and every Fall we get together to do their family shoot. I love the fact that I’ve been able to watch their family grow so much. All of the shoots, besides the first, have taken place at their favorite park, Fort Benjamin Harrison. It always seems to work out great, although we did have a little mosquito problem this time! But that didn’t hold us back!
Check out the day we had to work with!

So I guess it’s time to introduce the little Meiers.
The oldest, Craziest and Fastest, Jacob!

In the middle is Maddie, the Prettiest and Shyest!!!

And the youngest and newest to the family is Jack. He is the most Adorable and the Funniest!

Taking a photo at this spot has also become a tradition. It’s funny to think that we started these with only four people!

Jack had just figured out the whole walking thing and enjoyed showing off.

Yet another tradition has become throwing things into the pond. Normally it’s rocks, but crab apples will do.

Told ya he was the fastest!

Told ya she was the prettiest!

Told ya he was the funniest!

Bring on the Model shots!!!

Enough with the posing, let’s get back to what we came here to do… PLAY!!!

It’s not easy lookin’ this good. There’s a lot of work involved… like reapplying lip gloss regularly. And Maddie loves her lip gloss! So don’t even think about trying to take it away.

Thank you all. As with every year, I had a blast! I love seeing the kids each year and getting to run around with them. You all are the BEST!!! I look forward to next Fall.
The Meiers Rock!!!
We last left our lovely couple on the way to their Wedding ceremony at the amazing Music Mill. Which if you haven’t thought of them as a Wedding Venue, you should check it out, because this was awesome.

Right before they went in! I love this moment.

Lilly and Lucy (flower girls) were pretty entertaining!

All of the personal touches in this wedding made it so beautiful. Chelsea’s sister played their candle lighting song.

My favorite from the ceremony! Ah, I love it!

A little personal note from Benji.

I had to give the guys a little shout out for being one of the best group of groomsmen I’ve worked with! You guys kept us laughing all day!

Sour Patch Kids… this Wedding just keeps getting better!!!

A look at the inside of the comic book Benji made. Didn’t I tell you this was thing was awesome!

Okay at this point Benji is making all of the other men in the room look bad. This is Chelsea’s reaction to finding out they’re going to dance to the song he wrote her when they first met. He only recently was able to record it, thanks to the help from his (recently aquired) brother in law.

Ruthie (Benji’s little sister) was breaking it down on the dance floor!

And before we knew it, they had to run off.

Chelsea and Benji: Thank you two so much for letting us take part in your wedding. We had a great time ( I think I’m stating the obvious here)!!! You both, your families and your friends made the entire day so fun and enjoyable. We were so happy to be your photographers. Let us know when you need to those camping tips to break in your new equipment!
Click here to see all of the images from this wedding. Enjoy!
Yup, this is only part one of a two-part series. I was trying to cut down the photos for this post but just couldn’t get it to the point where I could fit in the whole day. I’m sure you won’t mind though. Benji and Chelsea were an amazing couple with amazing families and friends. Super nice, super fun and superer romantic! (yes I did minor in english… why?) You know how I love my romantics. And before I go on too long, I’ll stop and let the pictures tell the story.
Chelsea got ready at her sister’s house.

Meanwhile at their apartment…

Okay, so my title wasn’t original. I ripped it from the comic book that Benji put together for Chelsea. How freakin’ cool is that?!!! You should see this thing. It’s not just some drawn on pages stapled together, it’s an all out comic book with their story in it. You’ll get to see more in the next post. He actually made it to ask her to marry him. On one of the last pages it has his whole engagement speech and an open conversation bubble so she could write in “yes” or… please, like she’d so no after all of that!

My favorite getting ready photo! Nice grab Jen!!!

And the finished product… WOW!

Meeting before the ceremony, I love these moments!

My second favorite part of these meetings (second to the super crazy emotional high you get from watching) is when the couples back up to check each other out!

So, what do you think!!!

Off to Holiday Park. With the beautiful weather and amazing colors of Fall, where else would you go?

Hello Ladies!

Ian, keep your eyes on the road. You know the rules!

AHHHG, look at these trees, I’m going crazy over this stuff!

And look who road with us! We felt pretty special being able to escort around the two most important people of that day. And yes, I was driving like a nervous grandma!!!

So this is where we leave you. We’ll pick up tomorrow with more on “The Advetures of Benji and Chelsea.”
See you next time!
