Every time I look at these photos I miss Mexico just a little more. On the second to last day that we were in Acapulco, we decided to do a post-wedding shoot. With everything packed in so tight on the wedding day, we weren’t able to get a lot of photos of just the two of them being all lovey! And of course with Ryan and Emily being awesome and up for whatever, they were happy to pose a little more. Check ‘em out.
The grounds around our hotel were amazing!!!

Turning it upside down…

Lovin’ it!

Oh Mexico…

Emily and Ryan – Thanks again. We look forward to seeing you both and your families this upcoming weekend. And sorry about the shirt!!!

A little while back a friend, Kate Warpool (you may remember her from the blog, because we shot her wedding this summer), asked me to document a Community Art Project that she was helping organize through the King Park Area Development Corporation. If it deals with Art, I’m in!!! I guess I didn’t listen well enough to know that there was also going to be caroling, cookies and hot coco. Thinking back, I’m not sure why she just didn’t say, “Your coming!” The Project was “Light the Way” (a community holiday art project) that was to take place at the Kennedy/King park just NE of downtown. The idea came for Indiana artist Tom Torluemke. And with the help of Harrison Center for the Arts, Indy Parks/Recreation and the people of the community he was able to make a large scale luminary art piece using 50 gallon drums! Check it out.
I got there a little before dark to get some set up photos.

I’m sure the people in the helicopter had a GREAT view!!!

Each drum was drilled out in different designs by people from the community. The Harrison Center was nice enough to host drum drilling.

The overall set up!

I have to admit, I was a little weary that no one would show. IT WAS REALLY C-C-COLD! But they did. And in droves. I love hearing so many voices singing together, especially Christmas carols! It’s one of my favorite things.

The amazing Robert Pastore led the group. And Thade Correa played along on the piano.

Once the singing was done (and we were frozen solid) it was time to go into the Kennedy/King Center for HOT coco and cookies. And it was the best cookies ever… Butter Holiday Cookies!!! I LOVE THEM!

And last but not least, my favorite drum! (Kate yours came in right behind this one)

Finally we bring you the full post from Emily and Ryan’s wedding in Acapulco. We had such a great time with them. It does make it easier to have a good time when the only choices you have to make in a day is pool or beach and cerveza or margarita. But now we come to the actual wedding day. So things played out like most weddings do… preparation, portraits, ceremony, more portraits and then reception. However, the scenery was a little bit different then most. This day was made even better by how laid back and fun Emily and Ryan were. Check em out!
Emily had her makeup done at the salon inside the hotel.

Then she went up to their room to finish the job. I love this shot!

Emily’s Lion impression… not bad!

Meanwhile in the next building…

Ryan and his dad.

Yes Jennifer, I know… you’re awesome. Jen’s shot!

Yeah, that’s how we roll.

WOW!

Emily’s dress was beautiful!!!

This was very cool. Instead of a guest book, Emily and Ryan bought a crystal bowl for everyone to sign using a special scribing tool. That’s probably the best guest signature idea I’ve ever heard of.

A quick shout out to Bret and Tracie! Tracie is Emily’s sister. You may remember them from early this year on the blog. They got married at the Eiteljorg in July. Man, this family really know’s how to put together a great wedding!!!

Love it. Another one of Jen’s.

How great is this. The Moms were so excited!!!

My favorite!

With two flashes going off. You can end up with some fun photos.

This is one of about 20 different Tequila Shots Shots that we have. The waiters were bringing them around to everyone!!! It was awesome!!! And yes we have some of us too. Ryan took over the camera while we embraced the old Mexican tradition.

“Where are you going? This party isn’t over yet!!!”

Sadly, it is over. Ryan and Emily, thank you two so much for having us come along with you. We had an amazing time hanging out with you two. Maybe we’ll just have to schedule an anniversary shoot in Mexico next year!!! Where else can we go where you can surf, get waited on while on the beach and get a $10/hour massage? hehe!

He’s back! We first photographed Cameron at one month. The following photos were taken a day before he turned 5 months old. What timing! I don’t think we intended to hit on exactly those dates. It’s just worked out that way. So here he is — bigger and cuter than ever!

He shows our new, red couch well!

Cameron’s a big fan of hair. Especially his dad’s.

Awesome.

Amy brought this one so Cam could show off his “developing” legs. Don’t you want to squeeze ‘em?!

When he put this on, I started singing Amos Lee’s “Sweet Pea” in my head. Check out this song if you’ve not heard it…short and, wouldn’t you know it, sweet!

What ad could this fit it in? This is so baby model material!

Thanks to Cameron and family for a wonderful afternoon! We look forward to next time!
Meet one of the most genuine and nicest families I’ve ever met. They’re the Bisesis. I recently was asked to shoot their family photos and was like h*## yeah! We had a great time standing out on their roof, hanging out in trees and maxin-relaxin inside. Enjoy!!!
We shot the entire shoot on their property, but started in the house.

Their one request!

One of their favorite things to do as a family… canoeing!

I loved that potter’s shed!

If that just wasn’t enough Bisesi smiles to get you through, then you can visit Jill at the Children’s Museum. She’ll be right at the door to greet you… no seriously, she will be! She’s the Museum’s Greeter, and she does a great job, if I might add. Have a good day, and we’ll see you again soon!
Thanks Bisesis for a great time. Enjoy your Holidays!!!

Yep, we rode the waves at Acapulco! Dudes, it was awesome. Don’t mind the big waves BEHIND those we’re riding. Hey, they were intimidating for us first timers. We were glad to get a sweet little taste of the surfer life. And, we’d love to have some more!
First off, here’s a shot of the hotel through the lens of Tom Cruise, er, I mean Kurtis. It must be the Ray Bans. The hotel was open air throughout, basically a pyramid with a hole in the middle (pardon the description…hopefully you can imagine what I mean).

Emily (bride) got loosened up with a “massage demonstration”. I cannot count the number of times we were asked “Massage, Lady (massah-gay, lady)?” I also cannot count the number of times we said “No, gracias”. Emily reluctantly obliged on that day.

Here go the boys – Kurtis and Ryan

The Newlyweds! Hot picture, eh?

Hang Ten Jen

WHOOOOOMP (Chris Berman style) !!!

And then Kurtis went to enter the wet t-shirt contest. I think he likes his prospects.

haahhaaa!
This was an absolute blast. Thanks to Emily for shooting some of these — she showed some good photo game!
