Finally we bring you the full post from Emily and Ryan’s wedding in Acapulco. We had such a great time with them. It does make it easier to have a good time when the only choices you have to make in a day is pool or beach and cerveza or margarita. But now we come to the actual wedding day. So things played out like most weddings do… preparation, portraits, ceremony, more portraits and then reception. However, the scenery was a little bit different then most. This day was made even better by how laid back and fun Emily and Ryan were. Check em out!
Emily had her makeup done at the salon inside the hotel.

Then she went up to their room to finish the job. I love this shot!

Emily’s Lion impression… not bad!

Meanwhile in the next building…

Ryan and his dad.

Yes Jennifer, I know… you’re awesome. Jen’s shot!

Yeah, that’s how we roll.

WOW!

Emily’s dress was beautiful!!!

This was very cool. Instead of a guest book, Emily and Ryan bought a crystal bowl for everyone to sign using a special scribing tool. That’s probably the best guest signature idea I’ve ever heard of.

A quick shout out to Bret and Tracie! Tracie is Emily’s sister. You may remember them from early this year on the blog. They got married at the Eiteljorg in July. Man, this family really know’s how to put together a great wedding!!!

Love it. Another one of Jen’s.

How great is this. The Moms were so excited!!!

My favorite!

With two flashes going off. You can end up with some fun photos.

This is one of about 20 different Tequila Shots Shots that we have. The waiters were bringing them around to everyone!!! It was awesome!!! And yes we have some of us too. Ryan took over the camera while we embraced the old Mexican tradition.

“Where are you going? This party isn’t over yet!!!”

Sadly, it is over. Ryan and Emily, thank you two so much for having us come along with you. We had an amazing time hanging out with you two. Maybe we’ll just have to schedule an anniversary shoot in Mexico next year!!! Where else can we go where you can surf, get waited on while on the beach and get a $10/hour massage? hehe!

I love these! Can we just fake another wedding so you guys can take more pictures of us?
I love these almost as much as ours! (only because I’m biased to ours!!)

I was at Ryan & Emily’s wedding, and I can say your photographs really captured the mood of joy and celebration that Ryan & Emily envisioned in this “destination wedding.” I’m looking forward to seeing more pictures–they are certainly better than the ones I took!

Kurtis and Jen: It was such a pleasure getting to know you. This wedding has been a long and happy party–from the Acapulco destination wedding to the Indiana reception. You are both such a joy and your talent is clearly reflected in your photographic art. I hope our paths will cross again soon. You are both the BEST!!! Thank you for the gift of memorializing this happy occasion.
