Are you prepared to see the cutest thing you’ve seen all day, week, month… year?!!! It’s Aubrielle! She’s back and cuter then ever. We absolutely love this little girl, and her parents. It’s our third time this year photographing the Wise Family, and we love every chance we get to hang out with them. Here’s our latest installment, so have a look and let us know what you think!

Love it! Absolutely love it!!!

Aubrielle and Mommy teaming up to tease Daddy.

There was some amazing light coming through the windows!

It took two tries to get out on the playground. Stinkin’ rain wouldn’t go away.

What a beautiful family!

Denise and Alonzo – Thanks for having us over again. We love that we’ve gotten to see Aubrielle grow so much. It’s been so fun looking back at some of the earlier shoots and not only seeing her grow, but you two, too! We look forward to the next session. See you soon!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Gosh I love this family!!! They’re the biggest cycling, running, football, sports-in-general buffs we know (obviously we have a lot in common). And since it’s become an annual tradition to get together for family portraits, we’ve had the joy of seeing them grow to the family they are today. In our latest session we drove around downtown Fort Wayne and stopped by the Fort and the Rose Gardens. Great stuff… have a look!

Thanks again Mitchells for having me up. I really enjoyed spending the day with you all. The rest of the images are on there way!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

I’m happy to announce that Kumari Ratnayake is the winner with her Parrot Photo!

Kumari took this photo while visiting Latin America. The bird named Loro (parrot in spanish) sat above the doorway to a pottery shop. Kumari chose to enter this photo because it “was the closest thing to capture the vibrant colors that pock the buildings and landscape of Ecuador.”
The judges had this to say about her photo, “Strong composition, lots of movement – good use of line, color and repetition of shape that moves viewer through image.” and “… it is an unexpected vacation photo. Love the composition and color.”
2nd. Laurel Cornelius.

Judges: “Good composition, viewer brought into the image with dominant figure in the foreground and bounced across the image by strong vertical shapes. Horizontal lines help keep viewer in the image.”
3rd. Michael Strobel

4th. Laurel Cornelius (again)

5th. Barb Hagerman.

Judges: “… the brightness on Abe is about the same as the kid, it keeps me looking at it. I would have preferred it horizontal, but it’s still a good image.”
A special thanks goes out to our judges:
Sunny Wilderman – Professional photographer and last contest’s winner.
Matthew Gordon Lee – Indianapolis professional wedding photographer.
Julie Dhondt – Artist, teacher and well balanced designer.
Another big thanks goes out to all who entered the contest. We’re about to go into the busiest part of our year, but we won’t wait too long to get another contest up. Keep coming back… we love having you!
And we’ll leave you with a little hint for the next contest – “The best camera… is the one you have with you.”
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

It’s their first time on the blog and what a debut they made. The Amonetts are led by Lori (mom). And the other three members (in order of age) are Kaitlin, Conner and Allie. Well actually they led quite a bit of the shoot. Kaitlin even had suggestions for the next picture around every corner. We love other peoples ideas/suggestions for photos, but it’s not normally from someone so young. We ended up using a couple of her ideas and they worked out really well!!! So, a “good job” goes to Kaitlin for her ideas. Another “good job” goes to Conner for all of his energy. And the last “good job” goes to Allie for her cuteness and pose-ability (it’s a word, look it up… or is now).
With our further ado!

Kaitlin.

Allie.

Conner.

The whole fam!

When you expend that much energy it’s easy to get tired… fast!

Yup, the tree was one of Kaitlin’s ideas, and is one of my favorites

Finally, to the playground!!!

And it looks like we may have a new assistant.

Thanks again Lori for having us take these! We had a blast hanging out with you all! Your babies rock!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

We are proud to have hosted and survived our 2nd annual camp! What wonderful nieces and nephews we have! Aged 4-11, the Bowersock Bunch kept us on our toes and entertained the ENTIRE weekend. As a group, we devoured pounds of peanut butter, vegetables, grapes and cheese cubes. We won fists of tickets, then bought lots of bouncy balls and rubber eyeball poppy things (i’ve dug two out of the couch this week). We spent an afternoon at the local aquatic park splashing, spraying, and sliding down some pretty cool slides. Frigid water? YES. Did it faze us? NO! It was sunny and hot, and we told our goosebumps not to ruin the party. We watched movies like Kung Fu Panda, Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium (GENIUS MOVIE!) and Horton Hears A Who. We played Italian chefs and made our own pasta from scratch! We had a backyard camp-out complete with smores, glow bracelets and scary stories. And on Sunday at 4:30 pm, we rested.
This is a lengthy post but as you can imagine, we have many images to share. Perhaps you may remember our campers from last year, but here they a year older!
Bryce – he was completely content to climb our apple tree and just be.

Brandt (aka Boots) – he is a mini-Kurtis in so many ways.

Caitlin – our referee and consoler. She was first to resolve bumps, scrapes or hurt feelings. Certainly made our job easier!

Ella – ticket monster! She won over 200 tickets feeding colored plastic balls into a dog’s mouth. Incredible.

Landon – chocolate fiend and super-smore maker. He likes his marshmallows roasted just like I do.

Cadence – she’ll make you cry at cornhole. She’s a little girl, but packs a whole lotta sass.

Libby – our free spirit and god-daughter. A fiesty one, for sure.

We opened camp with a classic game of cornhole! Watch out, these kids are good.

Making birthday cards for our family friend, Tom.

We went on a “mystery trip” to The Incredible Pizza Company…the kids went nuts! It’s like Chuck-E-Cheese on steroids.

Ok, so make that 8 kids.

Later that evening, we enjoyed a movie and caramel corn.

It was rise and shine for a Cyclops Breakfast! While they loved the turkey bacon, most weren’t too sure about the eye. Some ate the toast, others ate the egg. I thought it was pretty clever! I would recommend it for ages 6 and older.

Then it was off to the Greenwood Farmers Market! I loved this. We assigned a certain fruit or veggie to a team before we left, and each had to select and purchase that item! The boys got tomatoes and jalapenos which were used in our homemade salsa. The girls got a watermelon and cantalope.

Yes, that’s a Watermelon in the bag!

The waterpark wiped us out. I was thrilled when one said she needed a nap. Somehow that turned into a party, and our bed became a “rocket ship”.

And for my favorite weekend activity – pasta making! Each sifted flour and kneaded the dough. We divided the dough into equal pieces and each had an opportunity to roll and cut pasta (with the help of our handy dandy Kitchen Aid mixer…it is THE best thing in my kitchen). They were amazed throughout the process, and it was so cool just watching their faces.

Dough rings.

Here it comes….spaghetti!

Finished product…bravo…very bravo!

Once served, Kurtis and I could only grin from ear to ear. THEY LOVED IT! Not that it was an exotic dish, but by allowing them to participate in making their food, it made a huge difference in their enjoyment of the meal. There wasn’t a noodle left!

Tents were pitched. Kurtis rigged a lean-to so he could sleep underneath the stars.

Let S’MORE fun begin! This was textbook smore making…Establish a solid flame atop a red hot simmering base. Slowly rotate marshmallow slightly above hot coals away from flame until mallow is golden brown. Let the flame grab a piece of the marshmallow and quickly extinguish it so as to make a bubbly crust with a subtle crunch. For a little adventure, we used constructed our smores with chocolate grahams and chocolate chips. BIG WINNER!

Almost every camper said that camping out was the most fun part of the weekend.

7:00am.

At our final breakfast, Kurtis once again treated us to a batch of smiley-face pancakes. We like smiley faces. And chocolate.

A family cookout and a few more games of cornhole followed to close out camp. All said, it was a success!
We are blessed with wonderful family, and we really love to be with them. Can’t wait for next year!

If you’re a regular reader, then I’m sure you’ve heard me say this before. I love 2nd shooting! But I don’t get to do it very often. It’s almost like having the day off for me. All I have to do is show up and shoot. I don’t have to do any of the preparation work or any of the post processing. The only reason I’d never do it full time is because I’d miss all of the great relationships that become of all the personal interaction we get with the Bride and Groom and their family and friends. And we love that much more!!! We’d never do this job without it!
Enough of the ramblin’. Here are some photos from second shooting with Matthew Gordon.
Groom and Mom before the ceremony.

St. Joan of Arc is a beautiful church with many great vantage points.

Bells.

What an amazing send off!

There were too many cute kids!

Mavris is such a beautiful place. And it seems like every time I go back they’ve added on another unique/amazing feature.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
