We had the pleasure of enjoying a day with the Roeders at their beautiful home on the lake.  We love to photograph our subjects in their environment…it’s comfortable, it’s real and its meaningful!  And it’s even better working with such a super family.

Kurtis & Jen

I love how much photography has given me the opportunity to spend lots of time with old friends!  It’s a special kind of moment when you get to interact with those friends again with the sole purpose of capturing their family’s happy moments.  Yah, it’s not a bad gig!  Well, that’s what I got to do this past weekend, with Chuck and Sarah and their beautiful daughter Elliot!  So check em’ out!

If you weren’t able to enter this month’s contest, don’t worry!  We’ll have another in late July.  I already have the category in mind, and all I can say is, if you have some time off this summer make sure to take lots of pictures.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful holiday weekend!  Happy 4th!!!!!

Kurt and Jen.

The contest ends this evening at 11:59pm.  So make sure to get your photo in by then.  The details are three posts below this one, so scroll down for all of the guidelines for entering.  We’ve already had several entries and are amazed by what you all have come up with.  There is one change that’s been made since the last post, I will not be judging the winners.  I’m gathering some judges for the contest that will have a chance to view the images without knowing who shot them.  I feel much better doing it this way.  And we still hope to have the results up by the end of the week.

Now get to work, and by work I mean away from the computer and away from what you’re so comfortably used to photographing and make a little abstract art!!!

I’ve been loving the entries so far.  And they’ve inspired me to do a little more.  So here’s a few more that I’ve come up with.  And although some of these are border-line non-representational, I’m still showing them. :)

Just so you know all of these were shot using the back of my office chair and the morning sun.  And no photoshop used either, just some tweaks in lightroom!

Thanks for stopping by, enter the contest and have a wonderful day! :)

Kurtis.

There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes here at KBP (the same I’m sure with any biz).  The downloading, backing up, backing up again, cutting down, cutting down again, editing, designing, and so on and so on.  So it’s really nice every once in a while to just arrive somewhere, shoot, hand over the memory cards and say “Peace Out!”  Well, I got the chance to do that this past weekend when I shot with Kiera for one of her weddings.  The wedding of Mario and Jessica.

Have a look!

Things in your last semester of High School can be crazy!  And with all of the stuff going on some times (and it hurts me to say this, but!) Senior Photos can get pushed aside.  No worry though.  Just ’cause schools out doesn’t mean it’s too late.  In fact it’s a better time then any other… the weather is better and now the Senior has more time! ;)  Well, that’s what happened with Andy.  So we just shot these just last week.  Check ‘em out!
